Spring Party at Coffee Emporium

2012 Coffee Party
Friends, supporters and volunteers joined the Village Life team for some food and fun
at the Coffee Emporium – Over the Rhine location.

On Friday May 18, 2012 Village Life Outreach Project Inc. teamed up with the Coffee Emporium for a night of African food, fun, and music at their Central Parkway location. The event served as recognition and appreciation night for volunteers, a way to raise awareness about the work being done by the organization and a celebration of the partnership between Coffee Emporium and Village Life, which has developed from serving Village Life Tanzanian Coffee to facilitating student internships in Tanzania. Attendees also provided a send-off for the June Trip to Tanzania, which included students from Engineers Without Borders-University of Cincinnati Chapter, who recently broke ground on a school in Burere Village in Tanzania.

Over 250 people attended the event which raised over $2,000. “It’s was a blessing to have the opportunity to bring folks together, in such a great environment with such an important partner, to celebrate and learn more about our cause,” said Dr. Lewis.   “By coming together to discuss, research, and address issues such as hunger and healthcare, we hope to inspire next generation of humanitarian leaders.”

Tony Tausch, co-owner of Coffee Emporium, continues to be excited about this partnership. “Coffee Emporium is proud to be a local company with a roasting operation and cafe in the great neighborhood of Over the Rhine. We like to think that we are affecting lives for the better in our own city as well as halfway across the globe. We are proud and honored to be associated with Village Life.” In the last two years, Coffee Emporium has raised over $4,000 in donations through coffee sales.
