June 2012 Trip to Tanzania Updates

Leadership Group June 2012
The Village Life team during the ‘Together We Are Stronger’
Leadership Conference
Our team accomplished a great deal during the June trip, including:
  • Hosting the ‘Together We are Stronger’ Leadership Conference for 20 of our Tanzanian Committee leaders.  The conference was led by Andra Ward of the Khafre-Ward Corporation, who ran a similar leadership training seminar for our Cincinnati committee during our March 2012 retreat.
  • Installation of the concrete foundation at new Kingigoro Primary School in Burere. a project directed by esteemed Village Life partners, the University of Cincinnati Chapter of Engineers Without Borders.  The team was directed by Village Life Building Committee leader, Emily Roush Elliott and included students Andrew Griggs, Kelsey Reichenbach, Justin Thompson and Zach Banachowski.
  • Improvements to the Nutritional Feeding Program with help from Lise Levy.
  • Doubled the capacity of the Rainwater Catchment System at Nyambogo Primary School.
  • Installed Medical Signage at Roche Health Center.
