Night on the Serengeti 2011

“NIGHT ON THE SERENGETI 2011” is a dinner event that transports guests to the scenic country of Tanzania.  Guests  experience the sights, sounds and tastes of African culture while enjoying a plated dinner and our special “Rafiki” ceremony.  There will also be a silent auction showcasing authentic African artifacts along with local business products ad services.

Since 2004, Village Life Outreach Project, Inc., a Cincinnati-based non-profit organization, has sent teams of health care workers, engineers, educators, students and volunteers to the Shirati Region of Tanzania, East Africa addressing devastating problems such as malaria, lack of clean water, malnutrition and school transportation in Tanzania. The non-profit also provides educational opportunities for hundreds of Cincinnati students through presentations and service-learning initiatives.

On April 1, 2011, Village Life Outreach Project achieved a major milestone by opening the Roche Health Center, the first-ever regional healthcare center providing access to preventive medicine and other basic healthcare needs serving more than 20,000 villagers. Funds raised this year will continue the year round support of the Center, ongoing projects in the Tanzanian region and Cincinnati based service-learning projects.

Number of attendees at last year’s event: 275
