Fox 19: Walk in My Shoes Event Preview

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – On Thursday, May 19, 2011, Students from Wyoming High School and Finneytown High School will participate in A WALK IN MY SHOES CHALLENGE.  This fundraiser will support the work of Village Life Outreach Project, Inc and The Freestore Food Bank.

The simulation of an Tanzanian student’s long walk to school, which can take three hours one-way, calls for local students to walk for 5 ½ miles from Spring Grove Avenue to Fountain Square. Students will be wearing their school colors: red for Finneytown High School and blue for Wyoming High School. Once the students arrive at Fountain Square, Dr. Chris Lewis, founder of Village Life Outreach Project and Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati – College of Medicine, will speak to students.

The walk will begin at 2:00p.m. The students should arrive on Fountain Square at 4:00pm.
